Body MOTLEY LIBRARY SUMMER PROGRAM Last week was “Creature Feature” at the Motley County Library Summer Reading program. Local resident Stockton Shannon brought all sorts of creepy crawlers. He told the children all kinds of interesting facts about each reptile.

Silverton student wins Briscoe Co. Cook Off Committee scholarship

Body McKlay Grabbe, a graduate of Silverton High School, was selected as the recipient of this year’s Briscoe County Cook Off Committee’s scholarship. Grabbe will be attending Amarillo College to study animal science.

Body Quilting went well Thursday, and Rose Mary got her quilt out of the frames and ready to hem. It really turned out pretty. The girls got my quilt put up, ready to get stitches put on it.

The barefoot grassbur digger

Body If you really want to get rid of grassburs, go barefoot when you’re out digging them up. The ones you don’t see you’ll step on. The other choice is arsenic. I’m thinking about taking some. If you let grassburs take an inch, they’ll demoralize you.
