Body Mark your calendars and rustle up an appetite for the Annual Motley County Friends of the Library “Rootin’ Tootin’ Beans and Cornbread” lunch and fundraiser. The event will be held Friday, Aug. 25, 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Library Annex.

Body We vacationed in Homosassa, Florida for many years. It was a 13 hour drive from Birmingham, Alabama in 1953. Even when I was 13 and my sister, Anita was 8, we could not help but pester each other and keep asking when we’d get there.

Body Tri-County Meals of Quitaque has received a small grant to help Matador people affected by the June 21, 2023, tornado. Applications for funds are available in Matador at Motley County Senior Citizens or at Dianne Washington’s office.
