Body We quilters are working on a quilt for Carolyn that Calvin’s grandmother pieced, I believe it is “Hearts and Gizzards.” It is very pretty and will be a cherished heirloom when finished.

Body MOTLEY SUMMER READING Although Matador suffered a great loss after the devastating tornado that ripped through last Wednesday, according to Motley Librarian Carla Meador the kids at the library summer reading program were thoughtful and caring and wanted to discuss the situation.

Body Growing up in the 1960s and ’70s, every holiday was special because my parents and grandparents made it that way. I have so many wonderful memories of all of them—the main ingredient in making them special seemed to always involve being around family.

Flomot Homecoming 2023 a success

Body The 2023 Flomot Homecoming was a great success as ex-students, ex-residents, and friends and family joined area residents to visit, tell tall tales, and remember Flomot happenings. Approximately one hundred people were in attendance.

Bob Kilmer also remembered Motley County’s recent tornado victims and voiced appreciation for volunteers who came together to support Matador, even including strangers who had no ties to the town. Roaring Springs rallies Motley County for annual July 4 celebration

Body Roaring Springs held its annual Independence Day bash on July 1, with plenty of family-friendly activities. The celebration started with a sentimental patriotic program in the Frank Mitchell Memorial Park. Shortly after, the highly anticipated parade got underway.
