To have the privilege to give the dedication of a historical marker is always a special honor, and to get to do it twice for the same maker is a double honor as well as a great blessing. We first gathered to do this in 1989, 36 years ago.

The rodeo queen—the candidate from Dickens or Motley County who generated the greatest amount of ticket sales—was recognized as Bre Chavez from Motley County.
