Body The Silverton Volunteer Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call at 1:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 6, to respond to a grassfire.The fire was located on Farm to Market Road 3365 east of Silverton.

Operated by Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority, the lake was created to furnish water to member cities of Floydada, Lockney, Silverton and Tulia. Lake Mackenzie sees 10-foot rise

Body Lake Mackenzie, a vital water source for Floyd and Briscoe Counties, has reached depths of 74 feet after quite a bit of rain has continued to fall in the area. Last year at this time, the lake was at 64.70 feet, indicating a rise of over 10 feet.
