The Silverton Volunteer Fire Department received a 9-1-1 call at 1:15 p.m. Sunday afternoon, July 6, to respond to a grassfire.The fire was located on Farm to Market Road 3365 east of Silverton.
REPLENISHING RAINS Lake Mackenzie is located in Briscoe County, 12 miles northwest of Silverton and 27 miles east of Tulia. Operated by Mackenzie Municipal Water Authority, the lake was created to furnish water to member cities of Floydada, Lockney, Silverton and Tulia. Lake Mackenzie, a vital water source for Floyd and Briscoe Counties, has reached depths of 74 feet after quite a bit of rain has continued to fall in the area.
