Body What a good weekend. Silverton had and also the May reunion had at Tulia. There were several of the May family that were Silverton students and grads that would love to have been at both places.
NEW TEACHER Aubrey Mayfield will be teaching 3rd-5th grade reading and language arts in Silverton. Mayfield is a California native who has recently moved to Silverton from Canyon, Texas. Her husband, Gid, graduated from Silverton School. Mayfield taught for seven years for Canyon ISD after graduating from Western Governors University. | COURTESY PHOTO

She is a Quitaque native and, with her husband, Rudy, she owns the Bison Café in Quitaque. She graduated from WestTexas A&M University and has served in the education field for 20 years. Body Jaylee, the 18 year-old daughter of Josh and Paige Gandy, started singing at an early age and has performed the U.S. national anthem across the state of Texas. She wrote her first single in Nashville, Tennessee, as a junior in high school.
