A nice group of Roaring Springs Lions Club members and guests met at Billie Dean’s Restaurant in Matador last week for a regular meeting and lunch. Lion Boss Alvin Alexander opened the meeting with pledges to the U.S. and Texas flags .

Local Student Qualifies for Texas High School Rodeo State Finals

Owen Cogdell, a Silverton native, will be traveling to Abilene, Texas, June 6–12 to compete in the Texas High School Rodeo Association State Finals. The state finals rodeo is an annual, week-long event where high school students across Texas and surrounding states come and compete.

Silverton qualifies 9 athletes in 24 events to Regional track

Last week Silverton competed in the area track meet and advanced nine athletes in 24 events.

FRIENDSHIP QUILTERS

The quilters had a good day last Thursday as we finished the beautiful quilt for Wanda Strange. Each block was different. and it really went together and looked so pretty. I’m sure who gets it will treasure it so much. We were ready to get one put up ready to work on for Bobbye Bean.
