Motley football game for Aug. 26 moved back to Matador

On Thursday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. the Motley County Matadors will face the Westbrook Wildcats in the first game of the season at home in Matador. Previously, the game was scheduled in Spur, but now both teams have agreed to play the first game of the year at Titus Stadium in Matador.

Jimmy Dean Arts Festival in Plainview Sept. 4

The Jimmy Dean and Llano Estacado Museum is bringing post-COVID events back to Plainview in a big way this summer with the first Jimmy Dean Music and Arts Festival on Sept. 4. The event will feature a full day of museum tours, music, food trucks and vendors selling their crafty goods.

TRADITION CONTINUES Silverton youngsters had a fun day making gingerbread men last week, and like the story goes, these gingerbread men “ran” through the school on the way to recess. They were eventually found in the superintendent’s office and became an afternoon treat.
