Body The Silverton Owls had a short week of basketball as both the junior high and varsity teams were open for their normally scheduled Monday and Tuesday nights.The varsity Owls and Lady Owls hosted both Kress and Fort Elliott at home Friday, Dec. 13.

Body Monday, Dec. 9 was marked by two tough losses for the junior high Lady Mats and Matadors as they hosted the Valley Patriots and Lady Patriots. The girls lost 9-57 and the boys lost a close 26-33, handing the Patriots more competition than they have seen all season.

Body After last Tuesday’s tough losses to Lorenzo, both Paducah basketball teams found some footing on the court at the Aspermont Tournament. The boys picked up two wins and the improving Lady Dragons got a muchneeded victory.

Body Valley basketball tipped off for the week Monday night, Dec. 9, in Motley County, where the junior high Patriots and Lady Patriots took on the Matadors and Lady Matadors. The Lady Patriots played a fast-paced game and used their height to force several Motley County turnovers.
