Body Owen Cogdell, an 11th grader at Silverton High School, has earned a position on the Texas National High School Rodeo team and will be traveling with fellow teammates to Gillette, Wyoming July 17–23 to compete in the Boys Cutting event.

Silverton HS cheerleaders to host mini-cheer camp Aug. 2-3

Body The Silverton High School cheerleaders are hosting their annual mini-cheer camp Tues day, Aug. 2 and Wednesday, Aug. 3 at Silverton schools from 8:30 a.m. until noon. A performance for parents and family will be Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 11:30 a.m.

Body July 19, 1973–A new cash crop—cucumbers—is now being harvested here. Two Silverton farmers, Riley Harris and Jimmy Myers, planted a total of 44 acres of cucumbers this year and have contracted them. . .Mr. and Mrs. John Lee Francis have moved to Plainview. . .

Body Yes, we girls finished my quilt Thursday, and I will get it hemmed and ready to give to my great-granddaughter that moved to the cold country of Illinois recently. After we finished we again went to the Ghost Horse Gallery for refreshments.
