Valley High School posts 4th 6 weeks honor rolls

Body Thefollowingstudents enrolled in Valley High School earned “A” Honor Roll for the 4th 6 weeks of the 2022–23 school year.

GOLD BALL

Body The Silverton Lady Owls won bi-district last week by defeating Miami 53-23 at Panhandle. In the Area game, they fell to #7 in the state Nazareth 59-26 which brought their season to a close. 

MOTLEY TRACK AND FIELD

Body Track and Field season has begun in Motley County, with 55 athletes participating this spring.

ALL-DISTRICT

Body Congratulations to Guthrie’s Journey Johnson, a senior, and Remington Long, a freshman. Johnson made first team All-District and Long was named Newcomer of the Year. 

'Kodachrome' on stage

Body GUTHRIE ONE ACT PLAY TO COMPETE IN DISTRICT MARCH 2 cast and crew will be perfoming 'Kodachrome' by Adam Szymkowicz at the District competition March 2 in Spur, produced by Special Arrangement with Samuel French and Concord Theatricals.

PADUCAH ALL-DISTRICT

Body Congratulations go to Makaisha Flemons, a senior, Aidan Piper, a senior, Talon Blount, a sophomore and Kennedy Whitaker, a junior, for receiving Honorable Mention All-District. 

VALLEY PLAYOFFS

Body The Valley Lady Patriots advanced to the regional quarterfinals and were to take on Nazareth Tuesday, Feb. 21 atWayland Baptist University in Plainview.The Nazareth Swiftettes (24-9) were ranked #7 in the state at game time.

Body The Valley Patriots were slated to play the McLean Tigers (13-13, 8-4) Monday night at 6 p.m. in the bi-district playoff at White Deer. 

DISTRICT CHAMPS

Body DISTRICT CHAMPS The Owls boys’ varsity team has won the district crown outright with a with a 10-0 undefeated record in district 2-1A. That includes an 11-game winning streak with the Owls being 8-1 at home. They will face Booker Saturday, Feb. 18 at 3 p.m.
