Motley Library fundraiser slated for Aug. 27

Body The Annual Motley County Friends of the Library “Rootin’ Tootin’ Beans and Cornbread” lunch and fundraiser has been set for Friday, Aug. 27, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Library Annex. The menu will be beans, cornbread, smoked sausage, trimmings, cobbler and iced tea.

Briscoe Co. Boosters car show winners announced

Body The Briscoe County Boosters have announced the winners of the 2021 Car Show. Jerry Miller of Silverton won the truck division with a 1972 Chevrolet Super Cheyenne. Lynn Smith won the car division with a 1968 Ford Mustang.

Body Silverton ISD has set Meet the Owls and Lady Owls for Tuesday, Aug. 24 at 6 p.m. All junior high and high school athletes and cheerleaders will be announced. Booster Club sign up will be that evening as well as a Booster Club meeting.
