Motley Co. ISD sets Meet the Teacher for Aug. 12

Body Motley County Independent School District has scheduled Meet The Teacher for Thursday, Aug. 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. The ISD asks for parents or guardians to feel free to bring their student’s school supplies when they come.

Body What’s new on the Campbell Farm? Well, I have a pet raccoon named Rocky-the-Comeback-Kid. I noticed a very thin, sickly-looking raccoon coming around the house numerous times a day.

Valley FFA needs sheep, goat, heifer tags before Aug. 27

Body Valley FFA is reminding all students to please make plans to get tags/unique identification numbers (UINs) for all sheep, goats and heifers before August 27. Sheep/goats and heifers are $17 per tag or UIN.

Guthrie alum inducted into Sports Hall of Fame

Body Ronny Flowers, who quarterbacked the Guthrie football team to the 1964 Regional championship, has been selected for induction into the Texas Sports Hall of Fame. Flowers is being inducted in a Special Category at the August 28, 2021 ceremony in Waco.

Lockney native’s sci-fi film released Aug. 3

Body After nine years of writing, shooting and editing his sci-fi film, “Destination Marfa,” Lockney-native Andy Stapp celebrated the film’s Texas debut in late July at Premiere Cinema in Lubbock.
