Body The Motley County Matadors varsity boys basketball team’s season came to a close last week when they lost their Area playoff game to the District 6-1A champs Sands Mustangs 53-34 at Lubbock Roosevelt. The Matadors, 8-1A runners-up, finish the year at 21-8.

Body Guthrie CSD’s Lady Jags competed in the Knox City track meet Thursday, Feb. 26. Sierra Jones, Mattie Masterson, Kensley Taylor, Maddee Foster and Ava Buckner were able to put together 84 points, taking 3rd place overall.

Body  The Valley Patriots varsity boys basketball celebrated their 54-23 Area championship victory over the Borden County Coyotes Friday night at Lubbock Cooper Liberty.They were scheduled to face the Happy Cowboys Tuesday, March 3, for the Regional championship.

Body  The Guthrie High School film crew earned 4th place in the UIL Young Filmmakers Contest last week in Austin. They were the only 1A school to advance to the State contest.
