Body Motley County sophomores had the highest attendance for the month of September and got to celebrate with an ice cream party last week.

Body Motley County high school cross country teams competed at the district meet last week in Spur. The junior varsity was team champion.

VALLEY XC

Body The Valley girls cross country team competed at the District meet in Claude last week. Kenadi Green, Jaydan Bagwell, Lizbeth Cruz and Emberlynn Mullin competed; Bagwell and Green are regional qualifiers.

SIGNS WITH HSU

Body Valley senior Reese Cruse has signed to play basketball upon graduation with Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene.

HOMECOMING WIN

Body The Paducah Dragons defeated the Harrold Hornets 60–14 before a Homecoming crowd Friday night bringing them to 4-4 on the season and 1-1 in district.This Friday they travel to Chillicothe for another district game. 

PADUCAH HOMECOMING

Body Congratulations go to PHS junior Paige Gonzales and senior Jacob Ferguson, who were selected as the 2023 Homecoming Queen and King during halftime of Friday's game.

Body Cheerleaders of all ages came out to support the Guthrie Jaguars Friday night versus the Jayton Jaybirds.

Silverton favored over Groom in Friday night’s battle for district crown

Body PRESS PASS SPORTS While all other districts with Texas Panhandle teams are still two weeks away from district action, District 1-1A DII kicked off this week. Thursday night, Silverton (5-2) had no problem with Lefors (1-6) notching a 56-8 win at home.

FRIENDSHIP QUILTERS

Body We “girls” finished Rose Mary’s quilt Thursday and it really turned out so pretty. We got one put in for me and started on it after lunch. It is just a scrap quilt and will be used to keep warm instead of for show, as it is not that pretty.
