I was one of 12 kids and a enjoyed a wonderful childhood, growing up in the late ’40s and early ’50s. The center of activity in our old farmhouse was the kitchen, where a grand old cookstove stood.

The Paducah cheerleaders, who have historically received top rankings in statewide cheer contests, will be competing in this year’s State cheer contest Thursday, Jan. 12 in Fort Worth.

Briscoe livestock show slated for next weekend in Silverton

The Briscoe County Junior Livestock Show will be held Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Silverton Downtown Community and Agriculture Building in Silverton, Texas. The event is open to the public. Chantell Francis is secretary for the Briscoe County Jr. Stock Show.
