Body SO LONG HOOTIE’S The eatery on Highway 86 in Silverton that took over from the former Something Different by Kay announced that last Friday would be its final day to serve meals. The restaurant was run by the granddaughter of the late Mike “Hootie” Juarez of Silverton.

Body We girls got started quilting on Bobbye’s quilt and get to roll both sides. It is red and white squares with a border on each side of star blocks. It is going to be very pretty when we get it finished.

Body FRANCIS IS FIRST Silverton’s Brenna Francis won the long jump regional championship with a first place finish of 17’03.50 to advance to the State track meet. She won the triple jump regional Championship with a first place finish of 34’03.

Body VALLEY FFA GARDEN GRANT Valley FFA has received a $1,200 Living to Serve Grant from the National FFA to start a school/community garden. Seedlings have been started and beds are being built.
