Body May 17th, 1973: Debra Ann Cantwell is Valedictorian of the Class of 1973 with a grade average of 95.85. Laura Juanice Arnold is Salutatorian with scholastic average of 95.80. Other honor students are Joan Cross, whose four-year scholastic average of 95.

Body GUTHRIE ALUM HONOR Abigail Jones, a 2021 graduate of Guthrie Common School District, set a new school record for Lubbock Christian University at the Lone Star Conference track meet last week. The LCU freshman placed 8th in the women’s hammer, setting a new school record of 43.

Body SCHOOL LUNCH HEROES Last week was National School Lunch Heroes Day. At Motley County schools, Brittany Moore and Myra McCleskey help in serving the kids every day. For many kids, when Coach Mike Bigham (center) hands out the trays, it’s the highlight of their day.

Body The Motley County Senior Citizens is open to serve meals inside or for carry out from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. every weekday. Seating inside the center has been arranged to meet safety guidelines for dining 6 feet apart.
