NEARLY WINNING The Silverton varsity boys basketball team nearly defeated a tough Hedley team last week, but ultimately succumbed to the other Owls 47–40. On Friday the Silverton Owls defeated 2-1A rival Claude 61–26, and at press time still had a shot at the playoffs. VALLEY IN SPUR’S DISTRICT The University of the Interscholastic League of Texas announced high school football and basketball realignments on Thursday. High school teams will play in these new districts for the next two years. For football Valley has been added to Spur’s district and that district lost Paducah.
