Hunters pursuing mule deer this fall in Briscoe, Childress, Cottle, Floyd, Hall, Motley and Lynn counties will be required to comply with an antler restriction regulation that prohibits the harvest of any mule deer buck with a main beam outside spread of less than 20 inches.

The Valley Patriots surprised the Spur Bulldogs 66-54 on Friday night in Ralls. Going into the game, Valley was 8–3 and Spur was 10–1. But penalties, turnovers and mostly flawless execution by the Patriots turned the tide Valley’s way.

Motley earns 12th trip to regional quarterfinals

The Motley County Matadors defeated the Rule Bobcats 52–6 Friday night in Guthrie to win their twelfth trip to the Regional Quarterfinals. They will face the reigning state champion Balmorhea Bears Thursday, Nov. 19 at 6:30 p.m. in Grady, 29 miles northwest of Big Spring in Martin County.
