Body Among the spring 2025 graduates of Sam Houston State University in Huntsville were Kaysey Taunton of Paducah, Texas, who was awarded the Bachelor of Science in criminal justice, magna cum laude.

Body CHILDRESS— The Texas Department of Transportation recently announced the promotion of Waldo Canales to Cottle County maintenance supervisor in the Childress District.
CAUGHT KNAPPING Knapper Sam Montandon of Canyon,Texas, will set up his colorful tipi at the 2025 Comanchero Rendezvous June 14 in Quitaque to entertain and inform guests about knapping, the ancient art of creating tools and points from flint. FLOODINGINROARINGSPRINGS Asaseriesofstrongthunderstormsmovedthroughthe area Sunday evening, May 25, the Roaring Springs Ranch Club received 4 inches of rain in about an hour, and precipitation continued throughout Sunday night. As of Monday morning, the club’s Snack Shop was closed due to excessive rain, and the golf course was under water as well. Many of the club’s roads were washed out and were extremely muddy on Monday. Body Memorial Day campers and visitors to the Roaring Springs Ranch Club got a front row view of the town name’s sake “Roaring Springs” when a storm dumped four inches of rain over the ranch in an hour’s time, raising the water level of the Tongue River almost immediately.
