Body Students at Valley Schools have a rich tradition of creating a program every year that recognizes and celebrates the veterans in their community.

Body The quilters got started on Carolyn’s quilt Thursday, and it is a very pretty one. It is a “Friendship” that everyone made two blocks for her some years ago.

Body The Silverton Owls defeated the Hedley Owls 62-34 Thursday night in Silverton to grab the second playoff spot in District 1-1A Division II. They will face Whitharral Friday, Nov. 11 in Lockney at 8:00 p.m. for the bi-district championship.

Body My husband of 34 years, William “Bill” Johnson, was in the Army during World War II. He served in the 293 Combat Engineers, 3rd Army and was part of Gen. George S. Patton’s Ghost Army organized to deflect enemy attention away from preparations by the Allies for D-Day.

Body The Do Gooders’ Club’s sponsored Fall Bazaar held Saturday, Nov. 5 at the Flomot Community Center was declared a success. The concession stand with traditional taco soup was completely sold out. The 13 vendors were pleased with the good turnout and the profit they made.
