Boy, I really got ready for Halloween! The high wind one day pushed me over and I fell on my face. A very kind man helped me up and I thank him, whoever he was, so very much. He was so kind and I appreciate his help so much.

It was senior night at Matador’s Burleson Field, and families and friends of athletes and other students in the Class of 2022 crowded the stands with high hopes that the number 1 team in Texas 1A Division 2 would hold onto their undefeated season.

Guthrie’s Passmann wins state in XC, looks to state track meet

Guthrie’s Brandon Passmann crossed the finish line in 15:32 at the state cross country meet last week in Round Rock.
He was several meters ahead of his closest competition, reigning XC champion Isaiah Billingsley from McMullen County, who finished in 15:42.

Valley wins first district championship since 2017

Most believe that the hardest part of Valley winning district this year was going to be defeating Happy—the Patriots did that last week, stopping the Cowboys 70–68— but Valley still had to beat White Deer to officially secure the District 1-1A crown.

Area cross country athletes Aidan Piper (Paducah) and Brandon Passman (Guthrie) will compete Friday, Nov. 5 at the state cross country meet in Round Rock.
Piper finished with an individual 9th place at the Mae Simmons regional event in Lubbock.
