FRIENDSHIP QUILTERS

All five of the ladies worked through the day and got a lot done on Rose Mary’s quilt. We always have fun and a lot of laughs. And we really did enjoy the homemade brownies she made. It was cloudy when we started and we hoped for rain, but it cleared off soon and we had a sunny day.

The Motley County Matadors football team won a big victory Friday night on the road, defeating Gold-Burg 78–53. “We played the most complete game last night,” said head coach Mike Bigham. “We executed in all three phases of the game and played with a lot of excitement.

Follett (4–2) used a strong ground game from David Meeks to beat Paducah 56–6 at home on Friday night. Meeks ran for 175 yards and six touchdowns, while Osiel Ventura added 85 yards and had the rare four-point field goal from 20 yards out.

Crowell’s Dick Todd Stadium hosted a wild back-and-forth scoring affair Friday night that saw the two teams combine for 123 points in the first three quarters before defense took over and No. 8 Crowell walked away with a 62–61 victory over Valley.
