Body Yay, we girls got the “give-away” quilt done and out of the frames. We will get it hemmed next week and ready to take it to the First National Bank in Silverton so people can see it and buy chances on it. It really turned out pretty.

Silverton to send 6 tracksters to State meet

Body The Silverton boys and girls track teams competed at the Regional track meet Friday and Saturday at South Plains College in Levelland. Eight athletes qualified to compete the State track meet in Austin later this month.

Motley Co. advances 7 to Regional track

Body Motley County competed at the Area track meet last week at Petersburg, and seven tracksters advanced to the Regional meet April 27 and 28 at South Plains College in Levelland, which will determine who goes to State.

Body This tale unfolds on a schoolyard playground in 1955 when I was in the fifth grade. The school was in North Middletown, a small community in Bourbon County, Ky. The school at that tine bad three playgrounds, and which one you used depended upon what grade you were in.
